DIAGNOSTIC DESCRIPTION
Perennial herb, 0.05–0.5 m tall, glabrous, erect to decumbent; not rooting, branching at base and all stem nodes; sterile shoots not distinct. Stems with ± numerous small amber or reddish gland dots or short streaks, not or slightly prominent; internodes 6–20 mm, shorter than to exceeding leaves. Leaves sessile, spreading, sometimes glaucous; lamina 7–27 × 0.7–3.5 mm, linear, apex rounded to apiculate, margin ± revolute, base cuneate, 1-veined, with laminar glands pale, numerous, small, marginal glands pale, dense. Inflorescence c. 10-∞-flowered, pyramidal to narrowly cylindric, 30–130 mm long, with lateral cymules (1)2–7-flowered, sometimes with 1–2 pairs of lower branches; bracts and bracteoles linear, entire, revolute or upper elliptic with marginal black glands. Flowers 7–11 mm in diam., with petals becoming deflexed; buds subglobose to cylindric, rounded. Sepals equal, almost free or up to c. 1/3 united, 1–3 × 0.5–1 mm, ovate or lanceolate to narrowly oblong or narrowly triangular, acute to obtuse or rounded; veins 3, sometimes becoming prominent; margin subentire with sessile glands or slightly glandular-denticulate towards apex, with glands black, globose to cylindric; laminar glands pale, in 2 continuous or interrupted lines. Petals “ochrous yellow”, not red-tinged, 4–6(–7) × 1.5–2 mm, 2–3 × sepals, obovate, long-unguiculate, rounded, with marginal glands black, distal, sessile or on short cilia; laminar glands pale, punctiform to shortly striiform. Stamens c. 35, longest 3–4 mm, filaments yellow. Ovary 1–1.5 × 1–1.5 mm, subglobose to globose, not rostrate; styles 1.5– 3.5 mm, 1.5–3.5 × ovary. Capsule 2.5–4 × 2.5–4 mm, globose, not rostrate; vittae narrow. Seeds not seen.
