Stems not or scarcely glaucous, with scattered, not or slightly prominent amber glands throughout; internodes 1.5–3.5 mm, exceeding leaves. Inflorescence ∞–3-flowered, from (3–)5–8 nodes, rather lax, 20–170 mm long, very narrowly pyramidal to narrowly cylindric or subspicate, with lateral cymules 1–2(3)-flowered, sometimes with up to 4 pairs of flowering branches below; bracts and bracteoles linear, the upper with sessile marginal glands. Flowers 10–18 mm in diam., with petals becoming deflexed after flowering; buds globose to broadly ellipsoid. Sepals equal, c. 1/4–1/3 united, not imbricate, 1–3 × 0.5–1 mm, oblong to triangular-lanceolate, acute to rounded; veins 3, sometimes prominent; margin with regular, sessile or subsessile, globose to ellipsoid black glands; laminar glands 2, pale, linear. Petals bright? yellow, not red-tinged, 4–9 × 2–4 mm, obovate, long-unguiculate, rounded, distally with black sessile marginal glands; laminar glands pale, numerous, small, mostly punctiform. Stamens c. 45–55, longest 5–7 mm; filaments not red-tinged. Ovary 2–2.5 × 1–1.2 mm, ovoid-pyramidal to ovoid; styles 2.5–3 mm, 1.2 × ovary. Capsule 4–6(–8) × 2.5–4(–5) mm, ovoid-pyramidal to broadly ovoid, not or slightly rostrate. Seeds reddish-brown, c. 2 mm long.
