DIAGNOSTIC DESCRIPTION
Perennial herb c. 0.3–0.4 m tall, glabrous, erect. Stem subglaucous not glandular; internodes mostly exceeding leaves. Leaves sessile, subglaucescent; lamina (main stem) 20–30 × 3–5 mm, narrowly elliptic or narrowly lanceolate to linear, apex obtuse to rounded, margin recurved to revolute, base narrowly to broadly cuneate, with laminar glands pale, small?, dense; marginal glands pale, rather spaced; lamina (axillary shoots) smaller, narrower, apex acute to subacute. Inflorescence ∞-flowered, from 5–6 nodes, narrowly to rather broadly cylindric, with lateral cymules 1–7-flowered, without flowering branches below; bracts and bracteoles broadly triangular, entire. Flowers c. 20 mm in diam., ascending after flowering; buds globose. Sepals unequal to subequal, basally united, imbricate, 4–6 × 2–4 mm, broadly ovate to ovate-elliptic, obtuse to subacute; veins 5; margin usually with regular ellipsoid black glands; laminar glands pale, linear to striiform. Petals yellow, not red-tinged, 13–15 × 3–5 mm, 2.5–3 × sepals, obovate to oblanceolate, usually unguiculate, rounded, distally with sessile to subsessile black marginal glands; laminar glands pale, punctiform. Ovary ovoid, slightly acuminate; styles c. 2 × ovary. Capsule ovoid-acuminate to ovoid-rostrate. Seeds not seen.
