Hypericum campestre subsp. tenue
Diagnostic description:
Plant a subshrub. Leaves 15-35 x 1.3-5 mm (1:b = 10-15), linear, plane to revolute. Inflorescence c. 6-26-flowered, sometimes with accessory branches, lax, rather narrowly to broadly corymbiform. Flowers 8-14 mm in diam., (3)4-5-styled.
Distribution:
Paraguay (southern), Argentina (Misiones, Chaco).
Notes:
Subsp. tenue is recognisable by the annual habit, narrow leaves, and slender, lax inflorescence. It appears to be the only subspecies to occur in Paraguay. Jiménez, Knapp et al. (2000) record the species from Canindeyú (Marin GM479), but the BM specimen is somewhat intermediate between sspp. tenue and campestre.
