DIAGNOSTIC DESCRIPTION
Perennial herb 0.03-0.1 m tall, glabrous, pulviniform, with stems numerous, straggling to almost procumbent, unbranched below inflorescence; stems slender, terete, brittle, eglandular; internodes 3-8(-14) mm long, mostly exceeding leaves. Leaves c. 2-3 mm petiolate; lamina 3-10 ´ 3-8 mm, broadly ovate or subcircular to oblong, glaucous, thin but subcoriaceous; apex obtuse to rounded, margin plane, base broadly cuneate to sometimes truncate; venation: 2 pairs of laterals ascending from lower ¼ of midrib, obscure; laminar glands pale, dense; intramarginal glands black, spaced. Inflorescence 1-5-flowered from terminal node, without flowering branches below; pedicels 1-2 mm; bracteoles oblong to oblanceolate, black-glandular-denticulate. Flowers 10-12 mm in diam.; buds globose, rounded. Sepals 2-2.5 ´ 1-1.5 mm, unequal, broadly obovate-oblong to (inner) lanceolate, rounded to acute, margin regularly or distally shortly glandular-ciliate or with sessile glands; vein 1, with 1-2 pairs lateral branches; laminar glands pale (amber) and sometimes a few black, striiform to punctiform; marginal glands black. Petals pale? yellow, 6-8 ´ 2-5 mm, oblong, rounded, apiculus absent; laminar glands pale, striiform to punctiform. Stamens 18-20, longest c. 5-6 mm long. Ovary ovoid-subglobose; styles 2-3 ´ as long as ovary. Capsule 3 mm long; valves with several interrupted vittae. Seeds brown, 1-3 mm; testa linear-foveolate.
