Hypericum origanifolium var. depilatum (Nomenclature)
Stems scabrid or glabrous. Leaves glabrous.
Among sharp stones; 500–700 m.
Nothern Turkey (Amasya).

This population is apparently confined to Mt. Logoman and differs from the rest of the species only by the glabrous or sometimes scabrid stems and the glabrous leaves. It has been classified (by myself and others) as part of the H. aviculariifolium complex (Spp. 2–12 in this work); but detailed comparison shows that it differs from 1. H. origanifolium only in the glabrous leaves and glabrous to scabrid stems. In addition, its single locality (Mt. Logoman) lies well within the area of H. origanifolium but not within that of the rest of Sect. Origanifolia. Indeed, these data suggest that this population is not worthy of subspecific distinction, and accordingly it has been reduced in rank to a variety.
