Hypericum elongatum var. racemosum (Nomenclature)
Diagnostic description:
A few specimens from eastern Iran and Turkmenistan have characters intermediate between H. elongatum var. elongatum and H. apricum, viz. an inflorescence shorter than in typical H. apricum and sepals smaller and less unequal than in H. elongatum but longer and less regularly glandular than in H. apricum. I have not seen the type of H. hyssopifolium var. racemosum, but as I have explained before (Robson, 1986), the description suggests that it shows some of these characters. I have therefore used Kuntze’s epithet to designate such plants.
