DIAGNOSTIC DESCRIPTION
Perennial herb 0.15–0.25 m. long, glabrous, many-stemmed, decumbent to sometimes prostrate from slender woody base, with axillary shoots. Stems slender, reddish below. Leaves glaucescent, 10–12 × 5–7 mm, ovate (usually) to ovate-circular, with midrib prominent beneath. Inflorescence usually 1-flowered; bracts oblong, 3–4 mm long. Sepals unequal, 3–4 × 1–2 mm, obovate to lanceolate; margin black-glandular-ciliate or with sessile glands or almost eglandular. Petals golden yellow, tinged red, 8–9 × 5–6 mm, broadly ovate; margin gland fringed except at very base, glands black, small. Ovary 4–5 mm long; styles scarcely exceeding ovary. Capsule not seen.
